Cream Cabin Cruiser Interior Reupholstery

A cabin cruiser has more upholstery than any other boat its size: cockpit lounges, an aft bench, cabin settees and a V-berth all need to match. This one had aged into a patchwork of cracked and yellowed vinyl.

We reupholstered the whole interior in a soft cream marine vinyl, keeping the boat bright and classic while rebuilding the comfort in every cushion.

The trick with a cabin boat is consistency. Because the cockpit sees full sun and the cabin stays shaded, a color has to look right in both, and the material has to resist mildew in a closed cabin that traps humidity.

The challenge

Reupholstering a full cabin interior in one cream tone that reads right in both the sun-drenched cockpit and the shaded, humid cabin, without inviting mildew below deck.

What we did

We recovered the cockpit lounges, cabin settees and V-berth in UV- and mildew-resistant cream marine vinyl over quick-dry foam, sealing seams and matching the tone across every piece.

The result

A bright, cohesive cabin cruiser interior that feels fresh from the cockpit to the berth, and holds up to sun above and humidity below.

Reupholstering a cabin boat interior

A cabin cruiser is a bigger job than it looks. Worth keeping in mind:

• Budget for the whole interior, not just the cockpit. The cabin cushions almost always need it too, and matching later is hard.
• Insist on mildew-resistant foam and backing below deck, where trapped humidity is the real enemy.
• Keep the cabin vented when the boat sits, a cracked hatch does wonders against mustiness.
• Lighter tones keep a small cabin feeling open and stay cooler in the cockpit sun.
