Burgundy Classic Car Bench Seat

Auto & Classic · Bradenton, FL

This classic came in with a tired bench and jump seat, the original material split and the foam long gone. The owner wanted a rich, period-right look with a little extra character.

We rebuilt the seats from the frame up and recovered them in deep burgundy with subtle diamond detailing, honoring the era while adding a custom touch.

Classic car upholstery is part restoration, part craft. Getting the color and pattern right is what makes an interior feel authentic instead of like a modern reproduction.

The challenge

Rebuilding shot foam and support in a vintage bench and jump seat, then recovering them in a burgundy that feels period-correct but fresh.

What we did

We stripped the seats to the frame, rebuilt the support and foam, and upholstered them in rich burgundy with clean diamond detailing and color-matched thread.

The result

A classic interior that looks like it could have left the factory this nice, built to hold up to Florida heat.

Restoring a classic car interior

A vintage interior rewards patience and the right choices:

  • Decide up front whether you want factory-correct or a tasteful custom look, it changes materials and pattern.
  • Rebuild the foam and support, not just the covers, or a beautiful seat will still feel wrong.
  • Choose UV-stable materials, Florida sun is brutal on interiors parked in the heat.
  • Keep it out of direct sun when you can, and condition leather to prevent cracking.
