Beige Lounge Boat Seating Reupholstery

This deck boat is built for lounging, with a wrap-around bench up front and a comfortable helm bucket. Years of sun had left the beige vinyl faded and stiff, and the foam had lost its give.

We recovered the lounge and helm seating in a warm beige marine vinyl, rebuilding the foam so the seats are soft and supportive again.

Neutral tones like beige are forgiving and timeless, but they show dirt, so the material has to clean up easily. That is exactly what marine vinyl is made to do.

The challenge

Bringing softness back to flattened lounge foam while recovering a large seating area in one even beige tone that cleans up easily.

What we did

We rebuilt the foam for comfort, then recovered the wrap-around lounge and helm bucket in UV- and mildew-resistant beige marine vinyl with UV-stable thread.

The result

A roomy, inviting lounge area that is comfortable again and easy to keep looking clean.

Choosing a color for boat seats

Color is the fun part of a recover, but it has practical sides too:

• Neutrals like beige and gray hide wear and never go out of style, a safe bet for resale.
• Very dark colors soak up heat and get hot to sit on in the Florida sun.
• Bright white looks stunning but shows every mark, so plan to wipe it down often.
• Whatever the color, make sure it is marine-grade vinyl, not a look-alike that fades in a season.
